LAST BET IN CANNES
REED is running out of everything — money, time,
and people willing to pick up the phone.
After stealing from his mother to feed a gambling
addiction, borrowing from a loan shark to cover it,
and losing both, REED finds himself cornered in a
Cannes parking garage with debt collectors closing in
and one last $500 transfer sitting in his account.
He bets it all on Crystal Palace. And they win.

What follows is a desperate, euphoric chase through
the glittering night of Boulevard de la Croisette —
REED weaving through festival crowds, dodging iron rods,
checking the live score on a cracked phone screen,
half-laughing, half-crying
He wins the bet. He never gets to spend it.
Inspired by the real falling palm tree incident
at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
LAST BET IN CANNES is a portrait of addiction —
not as a moral lesson, but as a force of nature.
Like a palm tree. It falls when it falls.
