Short movie

The film was inspired by an experimental short I made a few years ago. Now, with the help of AI technology, I am bringing that once rough and instinctive idea back to life.

Spring is supposed to be the season when all things awaken. Yet amid the vast yellow-green fields of rapeseed flowers, a withered tree stands alone. Everything around it seems to be growing, while it remains trapped in decay — out of place, silent, and quietly sorrowful.

The protagonist tries to attach leaves back onto the tree, hoping to make it appear alive again. This almost absurd gesture feels both like a futile act of repair and an instinctive resistance against loss. In the end, he chooses another way: instead of obsessing over changing the tree itself, he preserves that imagination of life and hope within his own heart.

Through this small and absurd act, the film reflects on life, loss, and self-reconciliation. Perhaps some things can never truly be restored. But even as we accept what fate has given us, we can still change what lies within our reach.

Accept what must be accepted. Change what can still be changed.
